October brought some very nice riding weather to New Hampshire. I hope you were able to enjoy the riding and the foliage this year. We are coming to the time of year where riders should be especially careful of road conditions. The first snowfalls of the year in my town bring the sanders out to the back roads, while the main roads get the snow blown off by the passing traffic. The result can be surprising a couple of days later, when you pull off the main road in a nice turn and lean to find sand on the pavement in your path. Also, be aware when traveling upstate that often the higher elevations may get snow accumulations that don’t occur at the lower levels.
The Club has a Directors’ meeting coming up on Sunday, November 2nd to finalize the nominations for Officers and Directors for next year. We will get together at the Chen Yang Li Restaurant in Bow, NH at noon, and start the meeting after lunch. All members are welcome to attend, especially any members wishing to become involved in Club affairs.
We still need to fill the Secretary position, as our current Secretary has reached the Club’s term limit. The nominations for 2009 Officers and Directors are: President Doug Fahlbeck Vice President Vince Chase Secretary To be Determined Treasurer Chris Benda Directors Wayne Davis; Jack Northrup; Robert Sherwood; Chuck Otto Mark your calendars. In a change this year, the Beemer Bash this year will not be scheduled in December, but will instead be held on January 25, 2009. Also, please note that the monthly Second Sunday Brunch at the Sunset Grill in Campton, NH at 11 am will be held in November and January, but not in December, as the owner closes the restaurant and goes motorcycle riding.
